Detailed process
Everything you need to know, step by step, to sell your vehicle with aukcio.
Registration
Enter your information as well as your vehicle details. Move on to the inspection for photos and damage declaration. At this stage, transparency with buyers is essential, as they will bid on your vehicle to the best of their knowledge based on the information you provide. Once your registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation email at the beginning of the week of the selected auction. We ask that the vehicle be available within 5 to 10 days following the end of the auction. If you wish to make an accommodation sale (recovery of taxes on the purchase of a next vehicle), it is important to first obtain authorization from your selling dealership.
Auction
Our auctions take place every week, starting Tuesday at noon and ending Wednesday at noon. Our network of more than 200 certified dealerships bids in real time on your vehicle without seeing the price you want (reserve price). This auction method allows you to get a fair price for your vehicle. We get back to you with a call on Wednesday afternoon or an email in the evening with the best offers!
Transaction
When the reserve price is reached or an offer is accepted, you will receive a contract by email between you and the buying dealership. You can then add your driver's license and registration to the email sent thanks to our secure document transfer system. The buyer will contact you within 48 hours after the auction to plan the pickup within 5 to 10 business days. In the case of an accommodation sale (recovery of taxes on the purchase of a next vehicle), you will need to send us the contact information of your selling dealership in order to put them in touch with the buyer. They can then conclude the transaction between themselves. The fees of $300 (vehicle under $30,000) or 1% (vehicle over $30,000) are deducted from the amount received at auction and are paid by the buyer.
Delivery
Our service includes pickup by the buyer. During their call, they will be able to schedule an appointment with you and travel to pick up your vehicle. They will then take care of paying you and/or paying your financial institution or lessor, retrieving or having the contract signed, and handling the steps for the transfer of ownership with the SAAQ. You don't need to go to the SAAQ or anywhere else, it's a turnkey service from A to Z. For an accommodation sale, you can leave your vehicle at your selling dealership and the buyer will arrange with them to come pick up the vehicle. In this case, the payments and the SAAQ transfer will be handled by your selling dealership.
